    Heteropoly anion dimers K12(SiMW11O39)2O·29H2O(abreviated to (SiMW11)2O, M = Fe, Cr, Al) were prepared, and characterized by element analysis, IRand UVThe binding energies of M2p in anions were determined by XPS The results show that M2p binding energies in (SiMWu)2O are 0.7~0.9 e Vlower than those in SiMW11 From the M2pbinding energies, IRand UV, it is deduced that two heteropoly anions in the dimers are connected by M-O-M, in which 2p orbits of oxo-bridged oxygen may be overlapped with 3d orbits of metal M to form dπ-pπ-dπ bondsThe magnetic susceptibility of Fe and Cr in (SiFeW11)2O and (SiCrW11)2O are obviously lower than those in SiFeW11 and SiCrW11 This means that there is an antimagnetic enchange of d electrons between two M through the bridged oxygen.

    In this paper, the effects of adding Sm2O3 on the alumina-supported nickel methana-tion catalysts were investigated by XRD, TEM, XPS and TPSRtechniquesIt was found that the addition of Sm2O3 leads to significant increases both in activities and stabilities, which are more obvious for the catalyst sample prepared by stepwise impregnationThe effects are primarily attributed to the fined and well-distributed crystallite obtained by means of Sm2O3 adding XPS results indicate that Ni2P3/2 binding energies for NiO-Sm2O3/Al2O3 are 1 eVlower than that for NiO/Al2O3. The interaction of Sm2O3 and Ni can improve the activation absorption of carbon oxide.

    The compatibility of zinc-neutralized sulfonated EPDM(Zn-SEPDM) and its effect on crystallizing behavior of high density polyethylene (HOPE) as well as the morphology of the blend were studied via WAXD, DSC, TEM, SEM, a capillary rheometer and mechanical property testsThe results show that the addition of Zn-SEPDM makes both the melting point and the crystallizing temperature of HOPE decreaseAs Zn-SEPDM content exceeded 20%, Zn-SEPDM in the blend became a continuous phase and an abrupt change in impact strength occurred therefromOwing to the incorporation of ionic groups into EPDM, the strong interactions between the chains make the impact strength of HDPE incredibly increased without sacrificing its tensile strength so much.

    A large number of free radicals are produced on the surface of PEto be irradiated by plasma, the ESRmeasurement for this kind of radicals in vacuum showed a five -line spectrum, which can be assigned to the free radical -CH2CH2·The radical translate to a peroxide free radical as it contacts with air, and to a PMMA free radical as it contacts with monomer MMA The results show that the free radical on the surface of PEto be irradiated by plasma can initiate the graft copolymerization of monomer MMA The graft amount measured by IRspectra increases with postpolymerization time, and reaches as highly as 10% (weight ratio)The stability of the PMMA free radicals, and the dependence of the graft amount on postpolymerization time indicate the graft chain has activity and the free radical in the chain end does not terminate.
