Abstract: The present paper reports the synthesis of chelate resins with hydrophilic polyacry-lamide matrix and ligands which form pentacyclic chelates with cupric ionsThe resins coordinated with Cu2+ were used as the ligand exchange chromatographic supports for the separation of neutral amino acidsThe chromatographic behaviour was compared with those on the columns packed with other two types of chelate resins in Cu2+ formSome of the resins synthesized in this paper have the best separation coefficientsThe effect of the chromatographic conditions on the separation was studiedThe mechanism of the separation is discussed.
