Abstract: A series of liquid crystalline copolymers with azoxybenzene mesogens were synthesized from 4,4'-dihydroazoxybenzene and 1,10-decamethylene glycol with different weight ratio by the solution polycondensation with an diacid dichlorideBy changing the mesogen content in the copolymer molecules, the phase transformation temperature of the copolymers could be regulated while their liquid crystalline properties were not sacrificed in the range of the selected monomer ratio.

Key words: Liquid crystalline copolymer, 4,4'-Dihydroxyazoxybenzene, 1,10-Decamethylene glycol
