Abstract: The redox processes of horseradish peroxidase (HRP) and its compounds were investigated by the thin-layer spectroelectrochemical techniqueIt is shown that the direct electron transfer of the enzyme HRPon the solid electrodes can be carried out and the electrode reaction is the oxidation-state transformation of the central metal ion in prosthetic group heme rather than the reduction of disulfide group in HRPmoleculeThe standard redox potential of HRP(Fe3+/ Fe2+) couple and electrochemical kinetic parameters were measured, and the electrochemical properties of HRP compound Iwere also discussed.
