Abstract: Two ether-linked tetrathiafulvalene-calixarene derivatives were designed and synthesized, and their chemical structures were characterized by 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, FAB Mass spectra and IR. Their electrochemical properties have been investigated using cyclic voltammetry method. And UV-Vis spectra was used to exploit the intermolecular electron transfer between the target compound (4a, 4b) and tetrachloro-1,4-benzoquinone (Q) regulated by metal ions (Na+, K+, Ba2+). The results the K+ may effectively promoted the electron transfer between 4b and Q system.

Key words: Tetrathiafulvalene, Calixarene, Cyclic voltammetry, Intermolecular electron transfer
