Abstract: The electrochemical oxidation of 1,4-dihydropyridine and its derivatives has beenstudied on Pt electrode in acetonitrile 0.1 mol/L TEAPsolution by cyclic voltammetry andbulk electrolysis. The results show that the electrode reaction is controlled by diffusion andchemical reaction with two successive one-electron oxidation irreversible process.Theelectrochemlcal oxidation mechanism of 1,4-dihydropyridine and its derivatives has beensuggested. The results of UVspectroelectrochemical experiment show that the electrochemicaloxidation gives the same products as in the chemical oxidation.
