Abstract: Ebselen is a organoselenium compound.It exhibits anti-tumor oxidant activity similar to that of glutathione-peroxidase(GSH-Px).In this paper, ebselen and its derivatives were synthesized using ortholithation, selenium insertion from benzanilide and its derivatives, and characterized by IR, 1H NMR,UV,MSspectrum.The results of retarding S,Mascites tumor activity of ebselen is more effective than Na2SeO3.
