Abstract: The self assembled monolayers(SAMs) of octadecanethiol and dodecylthiol are prepared. Its electrochemical behaviors in the solution of Fe(CN)63-/Fe(CN)64-with various concentrations are investigated by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry technology. Although there are no diffusion behavior in CV and EIS results, comparing with the theoretical results, it can be induced that there may be some collapsed or loosely packed sites (defects) in monolayers which provide a mechanism for rapid electron transfer.
