Abstract: Tosyl cellulose sulfate sodium and chitosan ultra thin films were self assembled through electrostatic attraction on the positively charged quartz substrate. The morphologies obtained by AFMdemonstrated that the arrangement of the polymer chains transformed from original irregularity into well-alignment and the thickness of the films was around 1-2 nm. The films were stable enough for constructing functional ultrathin films.
