Abstract

Abstract: Fluorescence spectra of sulfomethylated phenolic resin (SMP) in pure water and aqueous solutions containing the added salt have been investigated in this paper.The spectra confirm the formation of the intermolecular excimer of polyelectrolyte SMP,in which the chro-mogenic groups are on the main chains.It is possible to use the intermolecular excimer of SMPas a probe to study the molecular morphological changes of SMP.
