A Study of Adsorption Property of Natural Polymer Chitosan as Adsorbent

Abstract

Abstract: Chitosan and the particles of its crosslinked derivatives were manufactured,and the adsorption properties for Hg²⁺ ,Cu²⁺ , Ag⁺ and Pd²⁺ were studied in this paper.The result indicates that the particles keep its rigidity in the acidic solution,the capacity for Pd²⁺ is 480 mg/g, and it has an adsorption selectivity to Pd²⁺ when Cu²⁺ and Pd²⁺ are present simultaneously in the solution.These particles could be used in collecting precious metals from waste water.
