The Study of Weak Metal-Metal Bond in Mo43-O)2O4·Cl2(O2CC6H5)6 and Mo43-O)2O4Cl2(O2CC6H4CH3)6·2C6H5ClClusters

Abstract: The UVspectra and cyclic voltammetry property of the two clusters, Mo4(μs-O)2O4Cl2(O2CC6H5)6 and Mo4(μ3-O)2O4Cl2(O2CC6H4CH3)6 · 2C6H5Cl, desolved in N, N-dimetylformamide and the SPY (Surface Photovoltage) spectra, Photoacoustic spectra of this two solid state samples are measured. We discuss the properties of the weak metal-metal bond of the Mo2(V) structure unit and assign symmetry properties of Mo-Mo frontier orbits.
