Abstract: The title compounds, 2, 7,12,17-Tetra(methylthio)-3,8,13,18-tetra(benzoylthio) tetraazaporphyrin [H2T(mbm)TAP] and its metal complexes[MT(mbm)TAP, M = Mg(Ⅱ), Cu (Ⅱ), Ni (Ⅱ)], were synthesized from l-methylthio-2-benzoylthiomaleonitrile.The new compounds were characterized by elemental analysis, IR, UV-Vis spectra and DTA.
