Abstract: Polyanilines doped with different organic acids were directly prepared by precipitation polymerization technique using water/acetone as the medium of reaction and dodecylbenzene sulfonic acid (DBSA) or dibutylnaphthalene sulfonic acid(DBNSA) as the organic acid. Optimum reaction parameters, such as polymerization temperature, reaction time, molar ratio of acid/aniline and (NH4)2S2O8/aniline, were obtained for the precipitation polymerization of aniline. Polymer yield was about 80%. Organic acid doped PAn made in 2L experiment scale showed a high conductivity (3.0 S·cm-1) and can be easily dissolved in common organic solvent, therefore, this precipitation polymerization technique should be applied in industry. PAn DBNSAis somewhat better than PAn DBSA in properties.
