Abstract: Sulfonated hydroxyethylated crosslinked chitosan beads, which can selectively adsorb triglyceride, were prepared by the reaction of hydroxyethylated crosslinked chitosan and ClSO3H, using DMFas solvent. Adsorption experiments were performed by adding thebeads to the serum. The results showed that this type of adsorbent could cut down the concentration of triglyceride in plasma by 76. 9% at most, while the concentration of total protein(TP) decreased only by 2. 6% at least, so this novel adsorbent can be expected to be used for curing hypertriglyceridemia in the future.
