Studies on Mechanism of CO Hydrogenation over Ni/Al2O3

Abstract: The mechanism of CO hydrogenation to CH4over Ni catalysts was studied by response method of differential pulses and BOC-MP method.It was suggested that the dissociation of CO under the promotion of hydrogen was favorable over Ni(111),whereas the direct dissociation of CO was favorable over Ni(100).Moreover,it was shown that hydrogenation of surface C to CH species was the rate-determining step.
