Abstract: Agreen strongly luminescent amphiphilic lanthanide complex:N-hexadecyl pyridinium tetrakis(1-phenyl-3-methyl-4-isobutyryl-pyrazolone-5)terbium was prepared and identified by elementary analysis.The Langmuir film on the air/water interface and the transfer of the Langmuir film to form LBfilms by conventional vertical dipping method were investigated.The fluorescence spectra and fluorescence lifetime of the complex at solid state,in CHCl3 solution and on the ordered LBfilm were studied.The results show that the title complex exhibits a good performance in both fluorescence and film formation and transformation,This provides valuable fundamental data for its further application in microcavity laseroscillators.
