Abstract: Aimed at making high-performance coatings, the UV-crosslinking behavior of bisphenol A-type poly(ether ether ketone) were studied. A homogeneous aqueous dispersion of this soluble poly(ether ether ketone) was successfully obtained through polymer emulsion formation and then the solvent evaporation. The uniform particles(~150 nm) could be formed when mass fraction of the polymer in chloroform was ranged from 3% to 25%. The coating could be prepared via spray-coating method from above concentrated aqueous dispersion and some processing aids. We found the UV crosslinked layers had better hardness, adhesions and solvent-resistance than the ones without UV irradiation.
