Abstract: ZnFe2O4 and TiO2 nanopowders were prepared by coprecipitation and sol-gel methods, respectively. Influence of ZnFe2O4 dopant on the anatase-to-rutile phase transformation of TiO2 was investigated, and the photocatalytic activity of ZnFe2O4 doped TiO2 nanopowders was evaluated by phenol degradation under sunlight irradiation. It was found that the phase transformation could be strongly promoted by doping ZnFe2O4 component in TiO2 nanopowders, and an increase in the activity by a factor of 23 relative to pure TiO2 nanomaterials was obtained under the optimum conditions.
