Abstract

Abstract: The activity coefficients of C₄alcohols in diphenyl methane and in dibenzyl ether at 313.15K were measured by gas-liquid finite concentration chromatography.The data were treated with Wiehe-Bagley(W-B)continuous association model,and then the self-association constants K_Awere evaluated.According to the concept of homomorph,taking the value of K_Aof one alcohol in diphenyl methane as the value of the same alcohol in dibenzyl ether,the cross association constants K_ABof alcohol with dibenzyl ether were obtained.It is shown that the W-Bmodel can be fitted to the experimental result satisfactorily.
