Abstract: Aseries of aromatic polyimides from 3 kinds of dianhydrides containing ether bond and ester bond were prepared byconventional procedure.Gas permeabilities for 6 kinds of polymers to H2, O2 and N2 have been measured at the temperature from ambient up to 150℃.There is a very large difference in the permeability coefficients of the polyimides accompanied the difference in polymer structure.BPADA-based polyetherimides with the largest free volume have the highest permeability, while polyesterimide(HQDEsA-ODA)with the smallest free volume has the lowest permeability, being favorable barrier polymer.
