Synthesis of Cobalt Porphyrin Containing Aliphatic Chains, and Its LB Films and Gas Sensitivity

Abstract: Tetra-(4-N,N-dimethylaminophenyl)porphyrin(TDMAPP) reacts with n-C16H33Br to yield the product tetra(4-N,N,N-dimethyl hexadecylaminophenyl)porphyrin bromide (TDMHAPPBr).Its cobalt complex was also prepared.Both porphyrin and its complex have good film-forming properties.The UV-visible spectra of the LBfilms and solid state show that the two states have different styles in the molecular interactions.The gas sensitivity study of the cobalt complex indicates that the complex is sensitive to NH3 and has a good selectivity.The response and recovery times are short.
