Abstract: The essence and common nature of the oxidation-coupling of methane are studied and explored. In order to increase C2 yield, the superionic conductors as the catalysts were added into the ionic conductors CaOand La2O3 for enhancing the charge transfer in the reaction. It is found that the type of charge transfer strongly influences the properties of the catalysts in the above reaction and C2 yield is coincident with the charge transfer ability of the added superionic conductors.

Key words: Methane, Oxidation coupling, Superionic conductor
