Neuroprotective Effects of Novel Src Kinase Inhibitor on APP/PS1 Mice

Abstract: This study aimed to investigate the neuroprotective effects of the Src tyrosine kinase inhibitor Y-11 in transgenic APP/PS1 mice. Mice administrated with Y-11 could significantly improve cognitive deficits in Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and reduce the expressions of AD-related pathological proteins in the brain. Meanwhile, Y-11also attenuated neuroinflammation and synaptic dysfunction by inhibiting glial cell activation, and restored synaptic protein levels. In summary, the results suggested that Y-11 had neuroprotective effects on AD mice, provided a theoretical basis on the potential therapeutic application of Src kinase inhibitors in Alzheimer’s disease.
