The dispersion state of silica hydrosol, water glass and ethyl silicate hydroly-sate is studied by 29SiNMR spectrography. The results indicate that all silica hydrosols are typical colloidal solution. The state of silica in water glass is more complicated. It is in true solution when the mole ratio of SiO,/Na,O is equal to or less than 2, but colloidal behaviour becomes gradually apparent when the mole ratio is more than 2.The state of silica in the hydrolysate is dependant on the mole ratio of H2O/C2H5O; when the ratio is less than 0.5, the product is poly-exthoxysilicate in the solution and when the ratio is equal to or more than 0.5, the product consists of small particulate colloids and polycyclic silicic acids in the solution.

Anew sensitive fluorescence quenching method is proposed on the basis of the ternary complex formed from ruthenium (Ⅲ) and rhodamine 6Gin the presence of thiocyanate. Rhodamine 6G is a fluorescent dye. Its maximum excitation wavelength is 525nm, and its maximum emission wavelength is 551nm. The formation of the ternary complex reduces the fluorescence. Beer's law is obeyed in the concentration range from 0 to 0.7/μg/50ml. The method is valuable in determining the trace of ruthenium in both synthetic and natural samples.

A slotted stainless steel tube when used in air-acetylene flame increses the residence time of atoms in the light path of an atomic-absorption spectrometer, thus increasing the analytical sensitivity. With this technique copper and zinc were determined in serum diluted 1:20. Rapid accurate analyses can be achieved by using continuous aspiration. Use of aqueous standards resulted in recovery for copper and zinc of 92-110.9%. Coefficient of variation of 2.7% and 3.6% respectively.

The stable geometries, the bonding energies and the activation energies are calculated for ethylene adsorption on transition metal Ni(111) and Cu(111) surfaces by using EHMO method. The results show that the C-Cbond length, 1 = 1.60Å, the perpendicular distance between the C-Cbond and the metal surface, h = 1.80Å and the bend up angle of the plane HCH, θ=30° for the Ni adsorption) and l= 1.94Å,h=1.70Å and θ=60° for the Cu adsorption. The corresponding bonding energies for two systems are 62.1 and 21.3 kcal/mol, respectively. These results are consistent with the experimental fact. The origins of the different bonding energies are discussed and the origins of the different values for the activition energies are explained by molecular orbital natural correlation.

The activity yielding formaldehyde depends on cerium and its content. It is found that the addition of cerium lower the bonding energy of Sn, Zr and has influence on acidity of catalysts as well as adsorption of O2, CH4The result obtained from x-ray diffraction shows that cerium exerts action on Sn and Zr.

In this paper, a method of quantitatively analyzing DTA curves by two de-mension linear correlation, with which the kinetic parameters are obtained, is put forward according to the reasonable, kinetic model for the chemical reaction with characteristic thermal effect. The characteristics of this method is that some kinetic parameters are obtained by once experiment of DTAand once calculation only. Two kinds of methods of obtaining the data of DTAare illustrated in detail by some examples, and it is put forward that identity of the results obtained by two demension linear correlation with the data from two kinds of calculated methods is used as the criterion whether the kinetic parameters are correct or not.The results are compared with that of other researchers methods.

The methylated silica gel has been produced by the reaction between the surface silanql groups and ClSi(CH3)3vapor. The adsorption isotherms of acetic acid from carbon tetrachloride onto silica gel and methylated silica gel heated at various temperatures have been determined at 25℃, and the above mentioned silica gels have been studied by TGand IR. The results indicate:(1) the adsorption of acetic acid from carbon tetrachloride onto methylated silica gel decreased greatly, probably due to the concentration of the free hydroxyl groups for methylated silica gel decreased greatly as the IRshows, (2) As the surface methyl groups were destroyed at 500℃, the adsorption ability was restored when the methylated silica gel treated at>500℃; (3) after the methylated silica gel treated at high temperature, the adsorption ability was restored owing to that the surface free hydroxyl groups were reproduced.

The adsorption of SDS and PVP from their mixed solutions onto TiO2and carbon black has been determined exprimentally. On the surface of TiO2, the adsorption of SDS and PVP shows synergistic effects at low SDSconcentrations and antagonistic effects at high SDS concentrations. On the surface of carbon black, the adsorption of PVP and SDS shows to be merely competitive. The experimental results were discussed in terms of the complex formation between PVP and SDS, as well as by the polarity of the solid surfaces.

From a comparison of several antioxidants(AM,RD,Hand 264), AMis a powerful antioxidant which can be added into polyacetylene(PA). The kinetics of oxidation and isomerization of PA, PA/SBR, PA/AM, and PA/SBR/AM films have been established by oxidation-weight gain and infrared spectro-photometric analyses. Oxidation of all films is a first-order process comprised of one or two distinct regions. The induction period of oxidation for PA/SBR/AM film is the longest of all films cis-trans isomerization of PAfilms also shows two or three first-order kinetic regions. The antioxidation and anti-isomerization ability of various PAfilms exposed to air at 25℃ decreased in the following order:PA/SBR/AM>PA/AM>PA /SBR>PA. The addition of AMhas no influence on the conductivity possessed by doping PA. It is of significance for use of PAin industry.

Consequently, the PA-H+may be used as a pressure-calibration material of p= 35kbar.At various pressure conditions, the voltage-current curves are non-linear.
