Abstract: From a comparison of several antioxidants(AM,RD,Hand 264), AMis a powerful antioxidant which can be added into polyacetylene(PA). The kinetics of oxidation and isomerization of PA, PA/SBR, PA/AM, and PA/SBR/AM films have been established by oxidation-weight gain and infrared spectro-photometric analyses. Oxidation of all films is a first-order process comprised of one or two distinct regions. The induction period of oxidation for PA/SBR/AM film is the longest of all films cis-trans isomerization of PAfilms also shows two or three first-order kinetic regions. The antioxidation and anti-isomerization ability of various PAfilms exposed to air at 25℃ decreased in the following order:PA/SBR/AM>PA/AM>PA /SBR>PA. The addition of AMhas no influence on the conductivity possessed by doping PA. It is of significance for use of PAin industry.
