Abstract: The water-in-oil(W/O) microemulsions, which have been prepared by using the surfactant diethylhexyl sodium sulphasuccinate(AOT) and the oil solvent n-heptane, were used to transport and enrich trace metal ions Cd2+and Cr3+. The experimental results show that the two metal ions have high transport ratios(>90%) under the optimum conditions, Cd2+has high enrich times(6-7 times) and recovery ratio(100%), but Cr3+has very low enrich times(1-2 times) and recovery ratio(0%) under the given conditions of de emulsion.
