Synthesis, Characterization and Electrochemical Properties of Porphyrin-nicotinic Acid Binary Compounds

Abstract: Three porphyrin-nicotinic acid binary compounds were prepared by the nucleophilic substitution reaction of 5-[(4-bromopropyloxy)phenyl]-10,15,20-triphenylporphyrin, 5-[(4-bromopropyloxy)phenyl]-10,15,20-tri(4-methoxyphenyl)porphyrin, and (4-bromopropyloxy)phenyl]-10,15,20-tri(4-chlorophenyl)porphyrin with naotin, respectively. These compounds were confirmed by IR, 1H NMR, UV-Vis, and elemental analysis. The electrochemistry properties were studied by cyclic voltammetry.
