Abstract: This review gives a brief introduction to some living organisms with special structure and properties. The unique functions of organisms are usually related with their hierarchical structure. The development about synthesis and preparation of multilevel zero dimension and one dimension micro/nanostructured materials in recent years are presented. The zero dimension and one dimension micro/nanostructure materials are simply classified. Lastly, we give an outlook about the future development of micro/nanostructured materials.

Key words: bioinspried, hierarchical structure, micro/nanomaterial
