Abstract: The para-sulfonatocalixarene-modified gold nanoparticles were synthesized as the probes of polycyclic aromatic hydroarenes(PAHs) in aqueous solution. The results show that p-SC6-Au NPs could be used to probe anthracene, selectively. The detection limit(3δ) is 2×10-6 mol/L. This colorimetric sensor can be used to probe anthracene in situ.

Key words: Calixarene, Gold nanoparticles, Polycyclic aromatic hydroarenes(PAHs), Colorimetric detection
