Abstract: The second aggregation behavior of spherical micelles, spherical vesicles and worm-like micelles made from PS43-b-PEO45-b-PS43 and PS39-b-P4VP98-b-PS39 triblock copolymers was investigated by conventional Transmission Electron Microscope(TEM) and Atomic Force Microscope(AFM) techniques. It was observed that the second aggregation behaved the different complexity for different primary aggregates. For the symmetrical primary aggregates, such as spherical micelles and vesicles, the second aggregates displayed a symmetrical sphere. In contrast, for the unsymmerical worm-like primary micelles, the second aggregation tended to have an unsymmetrical shape. The BAB chain architecture was molecularly suggested to be responsible for the second aggregation.
