Abstract: The self-assembled monolayer of Schiff base N-aete-Nmolecules on Au(111) in 0.1mol/L HClO4solution has been investigated by electrochemical measurements and in situ STM.Two-dimensional ordered molecular arrays with a (6×7) commensurate structure were observed. The N-aete-Nmolecules are adsorbed on Au(111) in a flat-lying orientation and with a surface concentration of 5.5×10-11mol/cm2.
