Abstract: Coordination of ten kinds of calix[4]arenes bearing boronic acid moieties with four kinds of amino acids was studied by using fluorescence spectrometry. The stability constants( Ks) of the complexes of calix[4]arenes bearing boronic acid moieties with amino acids and Gibbs free energy change(-Δ G °) of the coordination reactions were calculated according to the modified Hilderbrand Benesi equation. The results obtained indicated that the coordination abilities and selectivities of Lalanine with calix[4]arenes bearing boronic acid moieties were stronger than that of the other amino acids, and that the above calix[4]arene derivatives could be used for identification of D-alanine.
