Synthesis and Crystal Structure of Europium Complex[Eu2C40H46N6O8·2(NO3)]

Abstract

Abstract: The title complex[Eu₂C₄₀H₄₆N₆O₈·2(NO₃)] was prepared and characterized by X-ray diffraction. The Ligand is dischiff base from ovanillin and diethylenetriamine. The complex crystallizes in monoclinic system, space P2₁/c, a=1.6546(3)nm, b=1.6519(3) nm, c=1.5807(3) nm, β =91.81(3), V=4.318(2)nm³, D_x=1.795Mg·m^-3, z=4, =2.9557mm^-1, F(000)=2320, the final R=0.058, R_w=0.076. In the complex the coordination number of Eu(Ⅲ) is 8 with a geometry of bicapped trigonal prism. The coordination atoms are oxygen atoms and nitrogen atoms.
