Preparation and Properties of Highly Active Electrorheological Fluid Based on Polyiline

Abstract: Dedoped polyaniline(PAn) particles with special core-shell structure were synthesized by chemical oxidation polymerization of aniline(An) through dropping An into oxidant solution with different charging sequences,and partially dedoped with concentrated ammonia water,then mixed with chlorinated paraffin oil to form anhydrous electrorheological fluid (ERF).The ERFhas a large static yield stress of 16.3 kPa and concomitant low current density of 2.67 μA/cm2 under direct current electric field strength of 2.8 kV/mm.
