Synthesis,Crystal Structure and Infra-red Spectrum of Complex[Cu(C14H11O3)(C10H8N2)2]NO3·C2H5OH

Abstract: The title complex was prepared and its crystal structure was determined.The crystal is space group P1with parameters:a=1.19l 1(2) nm,b=1.5322(2) nm,c=1.0492(2) nm,a=108.98(1)°,β=107.04(1)°,γ=70.25(1)°,Z=2,T=296Kand the final R=0.0541 for 3998 observed reflections.The Cu atom is five-coordinated with a distorted trigonal bipyramid.Four nitrogen atoms from two 2,2'-dipyridyl ligands and one carboxyl oxygen atom from benzilate form a distorted trigonal plane,while the other two nitrogen atoms from the two 2,2'-dipyridyl ligands occupy the two axial positions.The assignment in IRspectrum is discussed.
