Abstract: The two-model standard addtion method was developed for the improvement of selectivity of spectrophotometry. Based on the combination of dual wavelength spectrophotometry and standard addtion method, the standard addtion-dual wavelength spectrophotometry was designed to estimate the concentration of analyte and to eliminate the interference of coexisting species, which could remedy some defects for the two original methods. The proposed method was applied to the determination of manganese(Ⅱ) in the presence of zinc(Ⅱ), with no separation, using the 5-Br-PADAP/triton X-100 chelating system.
