Abstract: When the deformed drop retraction method(DDRM) is used to measure interfacial tension, the elastic relaxation of polymer chain should be faster than the ellipsoidal droplet retraction. We investigated the influence of polymer chain orientation during the retraction processes using DPD method. The result indicates that the influence of orientation is related to the direction of chain orientation. If the direction of chain orientation is parallel to the fluid direction, the measurement of the interfacial tension clearly deviates from the standard, but if it is perpendicular to the fluid direction, the measurement has nearly no deviation.
