Abstract: A new heterobinuclear complex bridged by N-benzoato-N'-(2-aminoethyl)oxamido trianion(oxbe) and end-capped with dipropylenetriamine(dpt), [Cu(oxbe)Ni(dpt)(H2O)]ClO4·0.5H2O, was synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses and IR spectra. The crystal structure was determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analyses. There are hydrogen bonds in the complex resulting in the formation of the double chainlike supramolecular architecture. The variable temperature magnetic susceptibility measured at 5—300 K indicates the presence of a medial antiferromagnetic interaction through the oxamido bridge in binuclear system Cu(SCu=1/2)-Ni(SNi=1) with magnetic parameters J=-62.3 cm-1, g=2.11.
