Abstract: 10-Methyl-benzoacridine(MBA) was synthesized and its crystal structure was characterized by the X-ray crystal diffraction method. The crystals of MBA exhibited monoclinic, space group P2(1)/c,a=0.584 890(1) nm, b=1.486 250(1) nm,c=1.451 62(3) nm,β=98.835(2)°,V=1.247(3) nm3,Z=4.The data of the crystal structure show that one-dimensional infinite columns based on intermolecular(ππ) interactions formed in MBA crystal. The rectangular and wire-like microcrystals of MBA were successfully prepared and characterized by fluorescent microscope. The study of photoluminescence spectra demonstrate that MBA is an organic blue light emitting material.
