Abstract: A novel monolayer γ aminobutyric acid covalently modified glassy carbon electrode has been fabricated via electrochemical oxidation procedure and was characterized with X ray photoelectron spectra(XPS) and cyclic voltammetry. The modified electrode was not only used to electrocatalyze the oxidation of dopamine(DA), uric acid(UA) and ascorbic acid(AA), but also gave rise to three well defined square wave voltammetric peaks, which can be used for simultaneous determination of these species in a mixture. The modified electrode shows good sensitivity, selectivity, stability and anti fouling effects.
