Abstract: Nearly transparent PMMAphysical hydrogels were formed during a monomer post-added microemulsion polymerization procedure by using ammonium persulfate(APS) as an initiator at a higher temperature up to 70 ℃. SEMobservations suggested that a lot of nanoparticles would be able to connect one another to form a physical network. The factors which affect the formation of these hydrogels were discussed and the formation mechanism was proposed in this paper.
