Abstract: The new ligand(1R, 2R)(+)N,N'-bis(8-quinolinesulfonylamino)-1,2-diphenylethylene diamine(BQSDA) was synthesized. The 1∶1 chiral crystal was formed from BQSDAwith acetone. The crystal belongs to monoclinic, space group P21, a=0.9717(2) nm, b=0.9495(10) nm, c=1. 7542(3) nm, α=γ=90°, β=97.130°, V=1.606(5) nm3, Dc=1.35 g/cm3. There is a hydrogen bond N1—H…O5 between BQSDAand acetone. The ligand has been used as the chiral catalyst in asymmetric hydrogen transfer reaction of acetophenone in a high yield with e. e.up to 66.5%.
