Synthesis of 3-Acylhydrazino-5-(2,4-dichlorophenyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole and Studies on Their Cyclization

Abstract: Fourteen new 2-acylhydrazino-5-(2,4-dichlorophenyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazoles were prepared by nucleophilic displacement of acylhydrazine at the 2-position of 2-methylsulfonyl-5-(2,4-dichlorophenyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole . Fourteen new 3-substituted-6-(2,4-dichloro-phenyl)-S-triazolo-1,3,4-oxadiazoles were obtained by treating 2-acylhydrazino-5-(2,4-dichloro phenyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazoles with K2CO3 solution. The structures of new compounds were determined by elementary and spectral analyses. All the new compounds showed a significant antibacterial activity.
