Abstract: Adsorption kinetics of acidic and alkaline cellulose-based magnetic polyamidoxime adsorbents(AMAO and BMAO) for bromine was investigated. The results show that the adsorption rate is controlled by intra-particle diffusion, however, it is also affected by mass action. Under the experimental conditions, the relationship between the adsorption capacity and the concentration of bromine was found to be confirmed with Freundlich equation and Langmuir adsorption isotherm. The higher super-molar ratio adsorption suggests that the adsor ption is followed by redox reaction, but the occurrence of cycle adsorption is considerable.
