Abstract: In this paper, crosslinked polystyrene─polyacrylonitrile interpenetrating polymer networks(IPN) have been prepared. The relationship between the interpenetrating percentage of resin and crosslinked percentage, weight fraction, pore structure and solvents were discussed. For the gel type resin, when the crosslinked percentages of the two networks are the same, the interpenetrating percentage is the best. For the macroreticular type, the effect of pore structure is remarkable. The results show that solvent is the most important factor for the IPNsynthese.

Key words: Interpenetrating polymer network, Polystyrene, Polyacrylonitrile
