Abstract: Trifluoromethyl t-Butyl nitroxide generated in the electron transfer reaction between(CF₃CO₂)₂ and t-BuNHOCOPh was subjected to EPRstudy in₁₆ solvents with different polarities.The result shows the linear relationships as aN=(2.17×10^-2 ET +11.34)×10^-4 T(r=0.975)and a_N=(1.20×10^-2 Z+11.46)×10^-4 T(r=0.976).By making use of such a fluori-nated un-bulky nitroxide as the model molecule,much information of theoretical importance about the solvation as well as the electronic structure of the nitroxide have been disclosed.
