Synthesis, Crystal Structure and Combustion Catalytic Activity of a Novel Energetic Complex [Pb(AZTZ)(bpy)(H2O)·2H2O]n

Abstract: A novel energetic complex with a formula of [Pb(AZTZ)(bpy)(H2O)·2H2O]n(1)(AZTZ=5,5’-azotetrazole dianion, bpy=2,2’ bipyridine ) was synthesized and its structure was characterized by elemental analysis, IR, thermalgravimetric analysis and single crystal X-ray diffraction method. Crystal data: triclinic system, space group P1, a=0.7341(6) nm, b=1.0050(8) nm, c=1.3367(1) nm, α=95.354(1)°, β=101.450(1)°, γ=101.233(1)°, V=0.8927(1) nm3, Z=2, S=1.030, final R indices[I>2σ(I)], R1=0.0301, wR2=0.0605, for all reflections R1=0.0351, wR2=0.0630. In addition, the catalytic performance of complex 1 on the combustion of solid double-based propellant is presented, which shows that complex 1 can enhance the burning-rate of solid double-based propellant.
