Simultaneous Kinetic-spectrophotometric Determination of Three Organophosphorus Pesticides with Multivariate Calibration Methods

Abstract: A kinetic-spectrophotometric method for the determination of parathion, methyl-parathion and fenitrothion was developed. It was based on the kinetic reaction of these compounds with H2O2 in alkaline medium. Under the optimal conditions, quantitative analysis for each compound in mixtures was investigated with the aid of multivariate calibration methods. The proposed method was applied to several water samples spiked with known amounts of the pesticides with satisfactory results.
