Abstract: SmPO4 nanorods were synthesized by a microemulsion system containing water, cetyltrimethylammonium bromide(CTAB), cyclohexane, and n-pentanol. Transmission electron microscopy(TEM) was used to characterize the shape and size of the as-synthesized sample. It was found that ω(molar ratio of water to surfactant) and reactant concentration play an important role in the formation of SmPO4 nanostructures.
